Economic regeneration involves the need to develop appropriate forms of reuse for dry stone features which are compatible with the cultural heritage and which involve the local communities. The project also enables the exchange and disclosure of experiences between organizations which aim to develop the economic potential of their regional dry stone heritage through two lines of action: new tourism products (cultural trails, walks…..), based on the special qualities of their landscapes and cultures; and the restoration of traditional agricultural activities. Both allow the regeneration of rural economies, traditional crafts and pride in being part of the community. Finally they provide the local populations with a means of sustainable development which reduces depopulation and attracts people to live in the countryside.
