Trail 4 Loseta, Inca,
Llubí, Costitx, Sebcelles
Es Castellot des Fideïcomis From Lloseta, take
the Almedrà lane. On arriving at the sewage treatment
plant, behind it one sees a higher piece of ground known
as es Castellot des Fideïcomis, where there is a walled
site. It still conserves a great oval perimeter wall made
of great blocks of stone and this fortification has three
entrances.
Es Claper des Gegant Going past the estate of s'Estornell
Nou on the left, on the road to Lloseta, there is a lane
to the left that climbs the mountain of s'Alcadena, and halfway
up is the monument. The talayot has a circular ground plan.
Although the floor has become blocked off by falling rocks,
the façade is still quite remarkable.

*Conjunto des Racons This settlement is in
the outskirts of Llubí, and to one side of the
road to Sineu. On the right of the road, there is a
circular talayot about five metres high and in good
condition, with one entrance. On the other side of
the road there is another circular construction, but
in a worse state of conservation. Further down the
road, on the right hand side, near the Molí d'en
Blanc there is another group of constructions largely
in ruins, among which there is a perfectly straight
wall, which could have been part of a sanctuary.

The group of es Racons: a circular talaiot and a very well-squared
wall that may
have belonged to a sanctuary

Santuario de la pleta de Son Corró At the
exit from Costitx on the road to Sencelles, one can see perfectly
the sanctuary of the sheep pen of Son Corró. This
building is well known because it was where in 1894 the famous
bronze bulls' heads of Costitx, masterpieces of Majorcan
talayotic art, were found. The bulls' heads were sold by
the owner of the land and the Societat Arqueològica
Lul·liana was unable to raise the funds to buy them.
To prevent their being sold abroad, the Museo Arqueológico
Nacional arranged for their purchase, and it is there that
they are currently exhibited. The sanctuary was re-excavated
and reconstructed in 1995, when two statues appeared: a talayotic
warrior god and another that represented a Roman hearth god.

The circular talaiot of Son Fred is set up for visits |
*Talayot de Son Fred At the entrance to the
town of Sencelles there is a talayot called Son Fred.
It is very large, round in shape and is one of the
few cases where a historic monument of this type can
be visited.

Cascaner After leaving Sencelles on the road to Sineu,
one comes to the hamlet of Cascaner. A few metres from the
houses there are two square talayots. The entrance to one
of them is still in a good state of conservation, and it
is interesting to appreciate the differences between square
and round talayots.
