Awards Majorca
The Insular Direction of Linguistic Policy of the Consell de Mallorca considerates very positive for the promotion of the use of the language promoting the literary creation expressed in this language, and with this aim organize these yearly awards in two modalities: narrative and poetry. La dotació econòmica és de 10.000 € per al Premi de Poesia i de 70.000 € per al de Narrativa.

Legislation affecting the Catalan
The legislation affecting the Catalan is different according to teh state where it is spoken. So, in Andorra it is the only official language and in Spain it is coofficial, together with the Spanish, at the autonomous regions of Catalonia, Valencia and at the Balearic Islands; moreover, in Catalonia and at the Balearics has the condition of own language. In change, it does not have this status in Alguer (Italy), nor in the North of Catalonia (France), nor at the strip of Aragón nor at the Carxe.

Language and speakers
The Catalan is one of the languages composing the linguistic diversity and richness of the world (approximately 6.000 different languages are currently spoken). It takes part of the group of the Romance languages, composed from the evolution of the common Latin, together with the Galician-Portuguese, the Spanish, the French, the Occitan, the Retoromance, the Sard and the Romanian
